From the Podium

Greetings,

I would like to extend heartfelt congratulations to the students in the EHS Wind Ensemble for a terrific performance last night. These students performed with open ears, open minds and a musical nuance that rivals most performing groups I’ve worked with. The passion and dedication in your performance was noted --- the judges indicated on the comment sheets that the band had tremendous energy and spirit. I have to agree! The stage was electric! 

I would like to also mention that the EHS Wind Ensemble performed the TOUGHEST literature that will be performed all weekend at the Florida Bandmaster’s Association Music Performance Assessment. We continue to challenge our students with quality literature and dedicated practice. To receive the ratings we did (“Excellent” according to FBA) is a HUGE honor considering the level of difficulty in the music. You should be VERY proud. I am very proud of this ensemble and look forward to promoting positive attitudes, musicianship and a high level of performance through the end of the year.  Congratulations, Wind Ensemble.

Parents and Students:

 Please print and sign the document entitled "Photo - Video Waiver" at the bottom of the home page under "Newest Downloads."

 This is a waiver that allows pictures and video to be taken of students while in the performing arts here at Estero High School. Though you may have signed a waiver with the school district allowing such activities, the Music Department will need to have this supplemental form signed in the event of extra-curricular performances and competitions. This is for student safety. Please return this document to me no later than Friday August 28th, as it says before the signature line.
